Click for profile 		Now that it's starting to get cold and rainy I have been really focused on making meals of substance. Meals that make me feel warm, fat and happy.

So far I've made a super heart chicken casserole, and right now a homemade lasagna is about to be all up in my oven, and then in my mouth.

What are foods that get you through the winter?

My mom makes this. so freaking good.

Chicken noodle soup is a favorite of mine too.

Click for profile 		I'm living on hotel food paid for by my company at the minute so I'd say Sirloin Steak, medium-rare with chips and a side salad and Ribs for a starter.

Otherwise I'd say in reverse order 3: My girlfriend's pasta bake, 2: The Lasagne I make 1: The roast my mother makes.

Yup get yerself a roast!

Or, what I like around november is to grab a couple of cans of tomatoes, whatever veg is in the store/needs eating from the allotment and a pack of sausages. Brown the sausages and throw the lot in a slow cooker to warm all day. Then when you get in from the cold you grab some crusty bread and grab yourself a bowl. Mmm Mmm!

Hmm I work with a Serbian woman who's husband is Polish. See if I can convince her to have people round for Slivovitz and Perogies.

Click for profile 		My mom makes this cheesy potato casserole with those hashbrown mini potato cubes, and tops it with all kinds of cheese and french fried onions. Delicious. Also, her homemade meatloaf with ketchup and brown sugar glaze, green bean casserole... Thanksgiving foods make me think comfort really.

Click for profile 		I had some of my favourite comfort food yesterday Pav bajee! It's tomatoes, boiled potatoes, peas and carrots, cabbage, cauliflower all cooked together. Served with fried bread, and chopped onion and corriander on top.
