Sooo

Does any one have any?

I'm severely claustraphobic (to the extent it influenced my decision on the house)

And I'm horrifically phobic of dentists. Which has translated into my perpetutating the stereotype of the British having bad teeth..

Any of you have any?

Anyone have any advice on how to deal with them?

I think some people call it agoraphobic but I think that is a misnomer.

Also I am trypanophobic, which is a fear of needles.
I have a panic attack every time I have to have my blood taken and it has gotten worse and worse with age.

Emetophobic. Terrified of anyone throwing up anywhere near me.
It also sort of links to a childhood of nausea and feeling the need to always have access to bathrooms just in case, so I don't get on with confined spaces without bathrooms, either... also don't like the inability to open windows.

As for the idea of claustrophilia, that'd presumably be an unusual liking for enclosed spaces rather than necessarily a dislike of open spaces/being around many people.

I thought this said tyrannophobic....which in my head I made into a fear of dinosaurs, but what is really the fear of dictatorship.

I am mottephobic, not of butterflies, just of moths. It's a real problem I have that people find hilarious which pisses me off. Don't fucking throw moths at me, it's not cute, it hurts my psyche.

i don't like the dark. in my home in hong kong, i would rather sleep on the couch outside where i can see the city lights, than my room,

i guess it's not a real phobia for me, but i get pretty unnerved.

It's not a phobia, as it's not that severe, but I have a significant aversion to blood. I can't watch bloody movies and get lightheaded when someone gets a cut

I have a severe fear of needles in the medical sense. I panic when I have to have bloodwork done to the point of nearly passing out. But for piercings.. I'm perfectly fine. I've only had one instance where i had a little bit of a panic before it happened but it passed quickly.

Also.. water in my face. Terrified of it. I can't even put my face in the water while having a shower.

Thunderstorms, or really any loud jarring sound, such as balloons popping, or a car accident, or things like that. It's not the actual act of them it's the anticipation of the loud sound associated with them.

Mack — how can you tell whether they're moths or butterflies when they're flying? Do you give them the benefit of the doubt until they settle or assume they're moths, or what?

There is an obvious difference between butterflies and moths.

"Most moths are nocturnal or crepuscular while most butterflies are diurnal" but not all, according to Wikipedia. That's the only "obvious difference" I can think of, so I'm getting the impression it's not necessarily the sub-order that matters but the time of day.

I thik butterflies that look like moths, are also scarey to her.

I'm pretty sure the actual key difference is that butterflies have stick antennae, where as moths have feathery looking antennae.

The first difference people usually notice is the body size of the moth. They're fuzzier and bigger than that of a butterfly.

No, Demented. There is a huge difference between moths and butterflies. Up to and including the way they fly. It has nothing to do with day/night, and I'm just fine with white butterflies.

I have a phobia but I've had so many bad experiences with people knowing what it is and not taking it seriously, I'm not going to say. I am much better than I used to be though - I used to even be unable to say the word of the thing I have a phobia of.
