That is so fucked up. One of the main reasons I decided to go to VT instead of VCU was I did not want to live in Richmond. I have always said it is a cool place to visit but I don't trust the place on a live in basis.

UltraStar	thanks for someone actually offering empathy. and i hate that it makes Richmond look so bad, but yeah that's what you deal with here. i hope the six guys who did it get caught, and it's really hard dealing with this when you are friends with the victims which also makes it hard to defend living in Richmond... as a side note, i've had an extremely hard time trying to cope with this. again-when it's people you know, it brings out emotions you never knew you had. (266k) Adored Spank! UltraStar	So Alice died on Saturday. The only emotion I can feel right now is utter relief. I am SO happy we moved her into the home last month. I am SO happy I did not have to be the person to find her body, to make the arrangements, to tell her son. I am even relieved for her son. The last few years have been nothing but stress for him and the rest of the family when it comes to her. We can all rest easy now, knowing she is finally resting easy.

(70k) Smitten Spank! SuperStar	Ohhh Shelly. Life lessons. We didn't have school today because of the snow, and while normally that would be OH WOW SUPER AWESOME, I have nothing to do. At all. I really planned on working on my painting all day today, and now I can't because it's trapped in my studio. I will admit I was initially hoping for a snow day just because I didn't want to have to try driving in the madness that I drove home in last night, but now I have cabin fever and feel as though I'm getting behind. Hopefully things are back to normal tomorrow.

Or at least channel the ridiculously excessive energy into something productive, like anything I've been telling myself I'll do for the last... er, up to several years. Except it can't be anything involving thinking, and why isn't my dad awake yet? It's almost 4pm. I should poke him. Well, he does appear to be breathing, so maybe I'll just leave him to it... Not that I'm trying to avoid my class or anything. It's just that I have another 3 hours of writing and that hand is decidedly unhappy with me and I'm not feeling all that masochistic :-/

In the past my employers were willing to deduct the minimum taxes for me, and I got returns, but this year none of them were willing to do so, and I may need the money I saved for grad school
