In Irish tradition a wake is for celebration not mourning and aye, my Grandfather's funeral was more jocular than funerals on the English side of my family. However the best I've been to is my friend Gerry's. He banned black from his funeral so it was a sea of colour and left £500 in his will to throw a party with where everyone was to be dressed as a pirate. He used to help us make the sets for a local am-dram group and often joined us on stage as a chorus member. Particularly if he could be a pirate so it was fitting.

Sure did! Smile Saw Ashley's response before I left and nixed it though. Please forgive me for not being versed in traditions my family doesn't follow. Jesus. Oh no, wakes are weirdly fun, usually because of all the free alcohol. All the ones I've been too anyway. But honestly, taking a book is well inappropriate and I think that you should really be able to tell that, considering the nature of the occasion. Good job you saw Ashley's response, huh?

The lack of physical affection is lame too, I'd try to rectify that as soon as I could.

Ivan, if you see him again ask him out for a drink/coffee or something. Maybe that's too forward, I don't know really. I'd probably go with giving him my phone number actually. Yeah, do that!

I bitterly sent him an e-card that said "Here's to another year of complete disregard for age-appropriate developmental milestones." He replied with "Thank you for the card, it's perfect! Ha ha."

Foiled again.

I have always wondered what it's like to take the bus! Too bad your bus apparently didn't participate in the no pants subway ride, which, ideally, should encompass all forms of mass transit.

Good relationships will ebb and flow and require some compromise and frank discussions and ongoing communication, and there will be many uncomfortable times. You need to learn not to assume that you're not cut out for being with someone just because something upsets you. Your concerns are valid and you need to examine them, not shy away from them.

re: bus dude, a sort of strange thing happened where just before his bag sort of exploded and we talked he took out a notebook from this bag and put it on the seat next to mine, then kept rummaging around in the bag, then picked up the notebook again later and copied something written in it into his cellphone. I don't know why he put the book on the seat when it could have just as easily fit on his lap. My bf thinks it was to facilitate my putting in a phone number. haha. who knows.
p.s. I totally justed posted a missed connection thingy. lolololol.
