What are/were yours? why didn't you go straight into medicine? or does the idea of spending a decade in education just appeal to you? have you got your place at cambridge? i did politics and modern history, will hopefully be doing a masters in international relations/american pol (haven't decided yet arrgh) in 2010.

(13k) Liked Totally Cool Member	Two of my friends died in my final two years at school, so it was hard then to knuckle down for the study required to get medicine. I wanted to study literature as well, so I applied for a place at the same university James Joyce studied English. I've already been in contact with Cambridge and they believe an A Level or Irish equivalent in Chemistry will guarantee a successful application for graduate entry medicine, which is a 4 year long course, meaning I'd be a licensed doctor at 27 (including a 1 year internship) with a BA in Classics and English.

(172k) Loved Spank! UltraStar	There must be more than an A in chemistry that you need to write to get into med school. Here everyone writes the MCAT and it's a bitch. I've had some very smart friends who majored in things like sciences (immunology and others beyond my comprehension) not successfully complete the MCAT.

UltraStar	i majored in biology for my one semester in uni.. now i've been out of school for almost 3 years, and still have no idea what i will go back and major in. i'm planning on going back in jan maybe, and taking psychology, anthropology, and global studies.. as 3 random courses to try to narrow it down. i'm too indecisive.
