Click for profile 		yes, but see, lifting blocks can be taught to anyone during a few months. There is no actual skill involved, especially when you know you'll get shot if you screw up. The block thing looked like something a bunch of performance art students might put up on youtube.

Click for profile 		but it was on a ginormous scale!!! i think that it took a lot of discipline and all the performances which really showed off CHINA and its culture (and the kids oh my god i have never seen kids that STILL - it was unnatural) had so much poise which i guess makes me forgive them for being so technical. i think the most beautiful part was when they were on the giant scroll and painted it!
above all, there were cheerleaders Smile sporty enough?

there was a bomb in hong kong. it was a joke or something though, because it was really small (but still harmful) and they found and detonated it. but it's pretty serious, it was near the place i would have been had i not been grounded. everyone is so scared of terrorists attacking us.

Click for profile 		yeah, the scroll was probably my favorite part. And the earthquake surviving kid oh man I almost cried, haha.

see, the trouble when east meets west is that something like cheerleading, when performed by an all chinese contingent, comes off as kind of hokey and fake(not unexpectedly so). A lot of people i know felt a strong vibe of stepford wives coming from some of the displays.

Click for profile 		ahahah ok i think i agree with you about the stepford wives bit (especially when Rogge and the other guy were walking towards the stage, and they were turning i was like whoa!) - the cheerleading was a bit unnecessary and didn't seem like part of the show but more like part of the security. i just felt so sorry for them because it must've been so hot and tiring! they had bottles of water strapped to their sides. ahaha i guess the uniformness of the ceremony was part of showing off how disciplined china is. ;) i'm not sure if i'm joking because that's the biggest thing i took away from watching it.TIME TO WATCH MEN'S GYMNASTICS!
