Yup! She's a superb writer. I can't wait to find her other books.
Right now I'm reading Zone, a play in French by some Quebecois author whose name I can't remember. Marcel something, probably. Also just started Pale Blue Dot by Carl Sagan.

not Zone! NOOOOOO! I had to read that in gr 9. french immersion class and wasn't really a fan, and this mild dislike was dramatically increased by being forced to read it and write mini reports on it. However, we made an amazeballs video which took place 10 years afterwards and I played tarzan complete with fake mustache and unibrow. I don't remember why I insisted on adding the unibrow, the moustache was to make me look like more of a man.

A fantastic french book is Bonjour Tristesse by Francois Sagan, but that's a france french novel.

Not really book related but,...

I can speak french a little bit. I'm taking classes at the university. We're going over more passe compose and l'imparfait, as well as Les pronoms d'objet indirect. (and direct)

at the moment. it's great, if a bit embarrassing when reading on the metro.

Inactive I just recently finished reading - Don't Be S.A.D.: A Teenage Guide to Handling Stress, Anxiety and Depression by Susan Newman. It is a great book for a troubled teenager.

Right now I'm reading Pinocchio by Carlo Collodi, Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk by David Sedaris, The King's Speech: How Once Man Saved The British Monarchy by Mark Logue and Peter Conradi, and rereading Flowers For Algernon by Daniel Keyes.

Next in queue are Dreams From My Father and The Audacity Of Hope, both by my kickass president. I've already read the preface, introduction, and first chapter of Dreams From My Father, and it's really very good. I'm excited to dig into it.

There's also a book about Abraham Lincoln that I've been flirting with at the bookstore. It'll probably come home with me this weekend. Also, my friend picked up a fascinating book about Elizabeth I, Robert Dudley, and the death of Amy Robsart which I'm going to read as soon as she's done with it.

Oh, and I've been working my way through all the Sherlock Holmes stories for quite some time. I read one story every once in a while and put the book back on the shelf. I'm trying to make them last because, you know, there's a limited number.

I read Midnight's Children when I was... about 8 or something. Didn't really get it, don't remember anything about it. I keep meaning to re-read it at some point.

Currently reading Fool by Christopher Moore, next up is Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. It is my lead in to my first proper Jane Austen novel, which I think will be Jane Eyer.

I'm rereading a favorite of mine as a stress reliever: Violet Eyes by Nicole Luiken. I think it's one of the most underrated YA sci fi novels ever. Although as I'm reading it I'm realizing how quickly it moves which I really like.

I'm... not reading anything. I've just finished the Tamuli by David Eddings and next it'll be either Stranger in a Strange Land or The Redemption of Althalus (again). Probably the latter as I want to save the former a bit longer.
