But he's getting his GED soon. Then he's going to go to the local community college and start a tattoo shop with his friend.

i'm hellishly bored with college and contemplate dropping out every day i'm there and most days i'm not but i know that i would never drop out. ever. it's not a possibility. what is it that you don't like about it?

at 15 - apologies if this sounds in any way condescending - it's very easy to make stupid mistakes. i'm not overly sure about the canadian/american education systems but you have no qualifications at 15.

Fifteen, you some places will hire you. But not many. Your better bet is to intern or volunteer for some mayor or something and wait until you're seventeen.

Shit, at seventeen now, looking back at when I was fifteen.... I didn't understand why my mom wouldn't let me go to Florida with my 17 year old boyfriend with no adults. But I was still smarter than everyone else my age.

I already have a job. But i want to drop out because i'm sick of working. I'm sick of doing the things that i never chose to do. I was forced. I'd like to travel and be by myself. Just be free. I wouldn't need anything (other than food and shelter ). I don't know maybe i'm a dreamer but i'd like to try.

Click for profile 		no, no, no you definitly don't know me very well because if you did you'd understand. I don't want to be like everyone else ( god this sounds like a cliche). I don't want to stay in school and be forced to llisten to the teachers midless commercials. It feels like everything they say is just so i will later go out and get a job and buy a car and a house and consume. I hate that it's so typical of humans. We just consume consume consume. I can't function in this stifling environment.

Click for profile 		My girlfriend dropped out of high school when she was 16 and worked at Denny's for a bit, late nights, until she realized that the only way outta her parents house was college, at that point she made up all her credits at her local community college, enrolled at Columbia college (the one in Chicago, not New York) at 17 and graduated with a B.A. by the time she was 20. She now has a great job at the Chicago Tribune where she makes enough to support me while I have cancer, and was also able to get me health insurance, which I wouldn't even know I had cancer if I didn't have.

Click for profile 		the thing about school is that in some high schools you don't have a choice as to what you study. but once your out your out. you can choose to go to college and get the qualifications to get a job if you need one for the money to travel or get a job that involves travelling. I know it may be hard to think of sticking out another few years of highschool but it will be worth it in the end. I love my college and i use it as a chance to learn about all the cultures and ways of the countries i want to visit. I look up plane tickets, jobs, volunteer programs, hostels and all that good stuff for numerous countries almost everynight. i just remind myself that this is just a steping stone. that most people did it and survived and that soon i will be able to do what i want.

Talk to me. ask me questions. I took a year off it was great then i started college and i am still traveling every chance i get. i will help you look at volunteer programs or countries you can go in the summer for cheap prices to help you get through the rest of the year in school.

Click for profile 		I know how you feel. School is wank. But seriously, you have to stick through it. It's a matter of just getting out of it then you can do far more. If you get into further education it's far more interesting and you get opportunities to travel and do what you want.
