I really can't imagine why you think dropping out at 15 will be good for you.

So, what do you plan on doing once you've dropped out? Lying around like a lump? And you said all you needed was food and shelter but if you're bagging groceries that's really quite impossible.

Yeah, honestly. If your peers won't take you seriously, what makes you think adults will?

yeah, don't be an ass. you'll just end up someone that the government and the tax-payers will have to pay for (gladly, not me, as I don't live in your country).
at 15, you're still a kid. stay in school, get an education, it'll open doors for you.
I've been in education my entire life so far, and I'm 22 next month, you think I haven't felt like giving it all up once or twice? course I have. but I think of how much better it'll be when I've finished, and it makes me work and get on with it.
now get back to school goddammit!

My two cents! Look, this is first hand experience. I dropped out of high school and regret it. Yea I got my GED but having a GED these days isn't much... Everything but fast food, grocery stores, and the like require diplomas. You're 15. If you don't like the way you're forced to take certain classes, do two things: 1) get over it. and 2) get involved in an extracurricular activity. But if that doens't work for you, stick it out until your about 17 or 18, then if you still want to quick, go right ahead... but remember it's a pain in the ass when you go in for a job interview and you have to explain why you didn't complete high school, one of the easiest things to complete.

Has anyone here dropped out of school? I'd like to know other peoples opinions on thesubject. I feel trapped and extremely bored at school. Maybe someone will help me make the right decision

I say go for it. I've talked to you before and judging from how you are so absorbed by an almost histrionic view of punk Caste systems, i figure you have little to give the academic community. You might as well be the one who flips Frank Drake burgers or cleans the car windows of Igor Dmitrievich Novikov

i dropped out of uni because I hated my course. Took a year off, when I was working. Best thing I ever did. But I could restart on another course. Can u restart school? Best just to get on with it until you have to make a proper life choice.

i'm pretty sure you can't drop out legally until youre 16 (in the US) and your parents have to sign some stuff.

don't do it, though. 4 of my cousins did, and 3 got their GEDs, and it was pretty much impossible for any of them to get jobs. abd only one went on to any school after that. none of them make very much money, and it's easy enough to stick it out.

if it's too hard, get some help with whatever it is. if you think it's too easy you should feel lucky. if you feel the administration is taking away your rights deal with it, it's life.

and you say you want to travel and be free and stuff... you can't really do that until you're 18. you can't get a place to stay. you can't fly. you can't even DRIVE for another year.

Too much free time actually sucks if you don't have work to balance it out.

Not exactly true. Maybe my town is different from other places but here most jobs require a high school diploma or a GED

and a GED can get you into college (well all the ones I want to go to anyways) so it's not like you are stuck.

I've been thinking about dropping out and getting my GED but I doubt it will happen.

This "traveling" stuff is bullshit. I mean yeah, everyone needs to travel to experience other cultures and all that great stuff, but it's no reason to drop out of school.

Travelling is great, but you have your whole life ahead of you to do it. Right now it's more important for you to go to school so you'll have opportunities later in your life and not have to work until you're 80 flipping burgers. Without education, you're going to have a hard time getting a job, a good one. And while that might not matter to you now, it will probably be more important to you in the future. Unless you want to go through your life living on the street or something.

Your call. But I advocate shutting up and doing what you have to do.
