Inactive Rugby and football were equal but with poncy Daego's diving all the time Footie has become a poofy game. Not like the old chopper harris style game.

Rugby Union is a man's game. Yankee Futball is a poofy game where players wear 2 ton of kevlar and limp off every 5 minutes. Even Rugby League is a ruffer game than Yankee Futball. Union is starting to have padding but not kevlar style rather a spongey suit. I've seen rugby games where people have broken so many bones. The best though was a all out ruck between both teams, their subs and coaches.

As for Ice Hockey. That's not a hard game. Yet again 2 tonnes of kevlar and what the hell is with that. It's fucking boring.

Click for profile 		high school football, at least here, is pretty rough. my brother manages his team and about half of them are off for broken and mangled body parts right now.

rugby... rugby is pretty rough too... i think the pro leagues are WAY tougher than pro (american or canadian) football leagues. i'm not sure about aussie-rules, whatever the fuck that is. (sorry australians... i really have no clue... i think the field is round, or something, but that's all i know.)

anyhow, lucy is right. hockey kicks both of their asses. also, hockey is tougher for injuries. you have to realize that unlike rugby where you fall to the soft, sweet mud, when you get tackled, wait i mean CHECKED (cause they're different) in hockey, it's BAM! your face and body slammed against the glass or the boards or the ice. plus, in hockey, people have more weapons. unlike rugby where all you really have is feet and teeth and nails and fists, in hockey you have sticks and sharp skates and the PUCK. that thing goes fast. it actually kills spectators on occasion.

so yeah. shut up about your wussie sports, rugby + football... wussies... [/best rocko from undergrads impression]

Football (soccer to me) is the most demanding as far as skill is concerned I would say. This is largely because you play the game using physiological elements that aren't usually quite so dextrous (feet, head, chest, knees). Manipulating a ball with your hands/arms is much easier than controlling it with your feet I would think?
Football is also physically demanding - running around a pitch for 90 minutes, chasing a ball would be the death of many. However the goalkeeper may as well bring a book along, and a flask I suppose.
Mentally, the best football players are those that can "read" the game. This requires excellent awareness and psychology. Strange then that those players which excel in this area can rarely "read" the back of a cornflake box.
As for American football it seems like lots of overly large men running into each other to me - but maybe I am missing the subtleties? I think rugby is certainly more exciting to watch and can result in far more heinous injuries. However I have read the the sport boasting the largest numbers of casualties per year is golf? Fat bastards suffering heart-attacks from buggy over-exertion no doubt.

Inactive My brother plays both and he just told me that playing rugby is a lot more physical in the sense of tackling and fighting but soccer is more strenuous as there are a lot less stoppages.
